Dr Brad Billings is the Anglican Archbishop of Adelaide. Ordained in 2001, he has been a parish priest, area dean, and archdeacon, and served for ten years as an Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Melbourne prior to his translation to Adelaide.
Brad completed his undergraduate degree at Ridley College. He was awarded the Master of Arts (Classics & Archaeology) by the University of Melbourne for a thesis on housing and demographics in ancient Ephesus, and the Doctorate in Theology (ACT) for a thesis on the words of institution in St Luke’s Gospel. He also holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of New England, and the Masters of Canon Law from Cardiff University.
Brad has written and published on a range of topics including New Testament studies, early Christianity, Church history, pastoral theology, the governance of parishes, and canon law. He has published articles in the Journal of Biblical Literature, the Journal of Theological Studies, the Expository Times, Colloquium, and the Ecclesiastical Law Journal. His doctoral thesis was published by T&T Clark, and he has edited and published a number of books in a variety of disciplines.
